LOVELAND, Colo.—A Berthoud police officer is accused by his teenage daughter of force-feeding her hot sauce, beating her with ropes, and tying her hands with plastic zip ties and handcuffs.

Loveland police say they arrested 35-year-old Jeremy Yachik Wednesday morning at his home without incident. The allegations by his daughter are outlined in an arrest affidavit.

The Denver Post reports ( ) that Yachik faces four counts of child abuse and one count of false imprisonment. He’s out on $1,500 bail and due in court Nov. 12 to be advised of the charges.

Loveland police say they began investigating Yachik in late September. Berthoud officials last week decided to have Larimer County Sheriff’s Sgt. John Feyen serve as the town’s police chief during the investigation. Meanwhile, Berthoud Police Chief Glenn Johnson has been put on administrative leave.
