Durango celebration The Celebration of Local Abundance is Oct. 30 in Durango. This community fundraiser includes appetizers, a cash bar, live entertainment and a prize drawing. Tickets are $8.
Halloween carnival The Grand Junction Halloween Carnival is Oct. 31 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Western Colorado Botanical Gardens, with carnival games, face painting, candy and more. Admission is free.
Hard cider fest The second annual Colorado Hard Cider Festival takes place Nov. 2 at Delicious Orchards Farm Market in Paonia. From 12 to 7 p.m., five Colorado cider companies will sample their hard cider with live music and a barbecue.
Snow-season kickoff in Breck The 11th annual Wake up Breckenridge is Nov. 7. Beginning at 7 a.m., Breckenridge Ski Resort will continue its tradition of giving away 1,500 free commemorative mugs with a cup of coffee in it to get the town ready for ski season.
