Car as gift without paperwork no good. On Oct. 19, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a driver at Evergreen Parkway and Brookline Road, Evergreen, because he had expired stickers on his car’s license plate. The man also had no paperwork for the car and said a woman he did some work for gave him the car. He was arrested for no proof of insurance and displaying expired plates. The car was towed.

Bad brakelight leads to summons. On Oct. 23, Jeffco deputies stopped a driver near the 26000 block of Pleasant Park Road, Conifer, after observing a malfunctioning brakelight on the car. The driver said he didn’t know the light was out. He didn’t have a license, or proof of insurance. He was also listed as having had his license revoked. He was given a summons.

Careless driver almost hits officers. Jeffco deputies arrested a driver who almost hit the officers while they were assisting another driver on U.S. 285 on Oct 20. A deputy followed the man to U.S. 285 and South Elk Creek Road, west of Conifer, where he was stopped. He said he hadn’t had a drink, but the officer smelled alcohol and the man could barely stand up straight. He also said he had smoked a “bowl” of marijuana. He was arrested for careless driving and DUI.

Men’s cologne lifted at Walgreen’s. On Oct. 14, Golden Police went to Walgreen’s, 17222 S. Golden Road, when a store employee said a man and woman walked out with a bottle of cologne after testing it. The employee got a license plate number from the couple’s car.
