Mercury Prize 2013 winner: James Blake upsets David Bowie, Arctic Monkeys with “Overgrown”

James Blake is the Mercury Prize 2013 winner for his sophomore album “Overgrown.” A number of well-known names, including David Bowie for “The Next Day” and Arctic Monkeys for “AM” faced tough competition against newcomers such as Disclosure (“Settle”) and Jake Bugg (“Jake Bugg”).

The winner was announced Wednesday night in London. Unfortunately for Blake, at the ceremony he was accidentally In 2012, Alt-J won the Mercury Prize for their debut album, “An Awesome Wave.”
