donned four inch heels for a rowdy Halloween set dressed as the Spice Girls at a sold out in Denver. The “Spice Boys” performed mostly new material and fan favorites from Deer Tick’s first album “War Elephant.” At times, two hour show felt more like a really good Halloween house party.

Robert Ellis and his band opened the show dressed as convincing Juggalos. Sporty Spice John McCauley, adjusting his sports bra, nailed it when he said, “It’s not every day you get to see Insane Clown Posse open for the Spice Girls.” True enough. Unfortunately, the band had canceled its Oct. 30 show at the Bluebird Theater because of a medical emergency.
