Car reported stolen is returned. A man called Golden police on Oct. 19 from 1030 Johnson Road and said a female acquaintance stole his 1998 black Jeep Cherokee. The car was listed as stolen, but the man was contacted by the woman, who left the car at a Walmart.

Mines students fight on Washington Avenue. On Oct. 19, Golden police went to Woody’s Pizza, 1305 Washington Ave., to break up a fight among Colorado School of Mines students that started when someone threw a punch after a male claimed he had had intimate relations with one of the women present. Intoxication and obscenities were involved. No charges were pursued.

Loud muffler draws deputy’s attention. On Oct. 26, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a car near U.S. 285 and Mariposa Road between Conifer and Indian Hills with a muffler so loud the deputy could hear it and feel its vibration with his windows rolled up. The driver was booked into county jail for driving while license suspended, improper muffler and no proof of insurance.

Juveniles accused of harassment. On Oct. 25, Jeffco deputies went to King Soopers, 25637 Conifer Road, Conifer, where it was reported that several juveniles, allegedly from West Jefferson Middle School, were harassing business owners and patrons.

A little bit of weed. A man parked in front of the DW’s 285 Diner, 25597 Conifer Road, Conifer, was busted for possession when deputies contacted him about an active warrant. A pill bottle with what the man said was “a little bit of weed” was confiscated and he was jailed.
