Raekwon raps an opening verse about “gangstas in watches” and “Next levels Lexuses” before dropping into Lorde’s chorus.
The 16-year-old breakout pop star has given quite a few interviews about the message in the song.
“All these people started telling me that what I’m saying is, like, profound. Are you serious? No, it’s not. It’s hugely concerning for me,” she told the Guardian.
Either hip-hop stars are just jumping on a chance to ride the “Royals” wave, or they are providing their own meta-critique on consumerism, or Lorde’s “Driving Cadillac’s in our dreams” is just the perfect chorus. Listen below then tell us.
