LOVELAND, Colo.—The Loveland City Council has agreed to split the cost of repairing the flood-damaged Big Dam with the Home Supply Irrigating & Reservoir Co.

The dam that diverts water on the Big Thompson River for both Home Supply and the city of Loveland sustained major damage during September floods. As a result, the city is unable to divert river water into the water treatment plant, which is located just downstream from the dam.

The Loveland Reporter-Herald reports ( ) the city agreed to pay more than its agreed share of costs because it needs the water.
