The price of a round-trip domestic flight from Denver International Airport averaged $323.72 in the second quarter of 2013, about $54 less than the national average of $378, the U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics said Thursday.
By comparison, the price of a round-trip domestic airfare flight from DIA was $317.78 in the second quarter of 2011 and $326.14 in the second quarter of 2012.
Huntsville, Ala., had the highest average fare at $547, while Atlantic City, N.J., had the lowest at $159.
DIA ranked 84th-highest out of the country’s 100 major airports, indicating that only 16 other airports had cheaper airfares.
The average price of a round-trip domestic ticket out of Colorado Springs for the second quarter of 2013 was $444.68.
It ranked 11th-highest, with only 10 other airports having higher average fares.
