GRAND FORKS, N.D.—Greg Hardin caught an 11-yard TD pass late in the fourth quarter to give North Dakota its first lead and beat Northern Colorado 24-21 Saturday.
As UND (3-7, 2-5 Big Sky) trailed 21-16 with 4:53 to go, Dominique Bennett forced a Bears fumble and QB Ryan Bartels took possession. A five-play, 31-yard drive ended with Bartels and Hardin connecting on an 11-yard score, and a successful two-point conversion put UND up 24-21 with 2:51 left on the clock.
Seth Lobato and the Bears (1-9, 0-6) attempted to make their way back down the field, but a pass was intercepted by Will Lewis and UND took two knees to end the game.
Hardin caught his 205th career pass for the best regular-season total in UND program history, and broke the school record for career receiving yards (now 3,404 yards). Bartels threw for 344 yards and two touchdowns.
