
Possible ID theft thwarted. A Jeffco Sherrif’s deputy was dispatched Oct. 29 to the 28600 block of Pinto Drive, southwest of Conifer. The victim said he received a phone call from someone asking for his full name and the name of his bank. When the victim replied, “I don’t provide that information,” the caller said, “Go to h—,” and hung up. Return calls to the number showed it was no longer in service.
License plate lifted. Golden police officers were called to Custom Direct, 16163 W. 45th Drive, Golden, on Oct. 28. The victim said a delivery truck driver walked around one of the company’s delivery trucks on Oct. 25 and noted during the inspection that the license plate was present. When the driver returned to work on Oct. 28, however, he found it missing. The plate was reported stolen.
Mailbox mischief. Residents of the 6300 block of Crestbrook Drive, south of Morrison, contacted the Jeffco Sheriff’s office to report that their mailboxes had been smashed. One resident believed someone might have intentionally driven over them.
Burglary suspected, nothing missing. A woman called the sheriff’s office on Oct. 29 after she suspected someone had been in her house in the 4300 block of South Braun Way, southeast of Morrison. A deputy contacted the woman, who said she had left the house and later returned to find things out of place. Doors she thought she had locked were unlocked and a bedroom door thought to be closed was open. Nothing was thought to be missing, but a report was filed.
