Not your typical bank heist. Police were called to Sooper Credit Union, 5005 W. 60th Ave., on Nov. 1 for a theft of the credit union’s water backflow device. The water pressure had been unusually low that morning, and an employee looked outside only to see the copper backflow piping cut and water flowing. Replacement was estimated at $1,400.

High-speed chase. Arvada police were involved in a vehicle pursuit Nov. 5 near Ralston Road and Kipling Street. Police observed a blue Mustang traveling at high speed cross the center median. The driver then went around the patrol car as police tried to stop him and ran a red light. Police followed but broke off the pursuit due to safety concerns. The Mustang was swerving through traffic at 80-100 mph.

Three-egg omelet. A resident reported a case of criminal mischief Nov. 4 on the 6800 block of West 79th Drive. Three eggs had been thrown at the man’s vehicle, a white Chevy van. Two struck the target. No leads were identified.

Stolen shades. Police received a report of theft Nov. 3 from the owner of a yellow Corvette. An unknown suspect entered the car and took a pair of designer sunglasses, as well as the vehicle’s registration and insurance cards. The doors were locked but the convertible roof was off. Police lifted fingerprints from the car.

Illegal refreshment. Police responded to the 5300 block of Saulsbury Court on Nov. 1 after two men were seen drinking alcohol in the park. One of the men had an open can of malt liquor, approximately half full, in his jacket. He was cited.
