DELTA, Colo.—Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board are trying to determine what caused a small plane to crash in western Colorado’s Delta County, killing the pilot.

According to KKCO-TV ( ), the plane crashed Tuesday in the backyard of a home, just missing a house by about 50 yards. The name of the pilot has not been released.

Officials say the plane was a Cessna 210 flying to Aspen.
