
Man thinks dog was poisoned. On Nov. 5, a man called Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies after taking his dog to the vet, thinking it had been poisoned. The man, who lives in the 5400 block of South Youngfield Court in the Littleton area, said he found his dog eating chicken bones from a bag in the backyard. He said he thought someone had dumped rat poison in the yard eight years earlier and said he had a problem with a neighbor.
Illegal dumping caught on video. A man called Jeffco deputies on Nov. 5 after he observed some illegal dumping in a parking lot on Coal Mine Avenue. The man showed police a video from his phone of a suspect in a van placing two box springs and a mattress in a Dumpster at a church parking lot.
Renter steals autographed baseball, skips out on rent. On Nov. 10, a man called Jeffco deputies after he suspected a renter in his house in the 8000 block of Calhoun Place, Columbine (Littleton), had stolen an autographed baseball. The victim told police he found two autographed baseballs missing from one of his rooms. When he confronted the suspect, he retrieved one of the baseballs. The suspect had also promised to pay rent, but left the state without doing so.
Call upsets salon worker. On Nov. 6, Jeffco deputies went to Southwest Plaza Mall, 8501 W. Bowles Ave. in the Littleton area, where a woman working at a salon told deputies a man had called to make an appointment but began asking inappropriate questions. She said she played along at first, but then became uncomfortable. Deputies arranged for an escort to her car.
