After her jungle survival video for “Roar,” has gone in a more serious direction on her new “Unconditionally” video. Among snow, formal dancers, owls and even some fire, Perry brings an even more melodramatic experience to her second single from “Prism.”
With a Nutcracker-esque vibe, it all feels like the perfect Katy Perry ferry tale — until she get’s hit by a car.
After “Unconditionally” premiered on MTV, Perry explained the car crash scene in the video was a not-so-subtle metaphor for falling in love, as “when love hits you, you feel like you’ve been hit by a car” she said. But obviously after the car crash incident in the video, Perry is reborn with dance moves in front of a wall of flowers.
Perry is set to perform on Nov. 24 at the American Music Awards.
