Police have two suspects in custody after an incident in southwest Denver in which a gun was fired.
The suspects were identified Thursday afternoon as Samuel Edelem, 35, and Daniel Gomez, 33.The incident happened about 11 a.m. at 1205 W. Evans Ave., said John White, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
The address houses a retail garden center.
Two men went inside the business and inquired about an employee, White said, and then went back outside.
When the employee came outside, a shot — or shots — were fired and the pair took off in a vehicle.
No one was hit by the gun fire.
A short time later a Denver police officer spotted the suspect vehicle and a brief chase ensued. The suspect vehicle crashed into a home on West Dakota Avenue near Federal Boulevard and the two suspects fled on foot. No one in the home was injured.
Police caught one suspect in a McDonald’s restaurant near Federal and West Alameda Avenue, White said. The second suspect was caught a short time later nearby.
One suspect was taken to a local hospital to be treated for an unspecified injury, White said.
The case remains under investigation.
