The Denver District Attorney has formally charged the starting Colorado Avalanche goalie with assault.
Semyon Varlamov, 25, was charged with one count of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Varlamov was arrested in October after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend at their Denver home on Oct. 30.
Varlamov was released from custody on a $5,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Denver County court on Dec. 2.
