VAIL, Colo.—A woman who acknowledged embezzling more than $129,000 from three Vail-area businesses while she worked as a bookkeeper has been sentenced to eight years in a community corrections facility in Durango.
The Vail Daily reports ( ) Allison Butler Coyle was sentenced Wednesday and must repay the amount she stole. She faces 20 years in prison if she fails the community corrections program.
Coyle was accused of stealing the money from two hospitality companies and an excavation company to support her cocaine habit, which she said developed because it helped her deal with depression.
