COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Schriever Air Force Base officials have released the names of two airmen who were killed in a head-on crash east of Colorado Springs.
The Gazette reports ( ) Airman 1st Class Edward Yu and Airman 1st Class Abtron O’Neal were headed east on Highway 94 at about 6 a.m. Wednesday when they apparently swerved into the opposite lane to avoid hitting a couch that was in the roadway. The vehicle they were in struck a pickup truck, and the airmen were killed instantly.
Base officials say they will hold a memorial service for O’Neal and Yu, who were assigned to the 3rd Space Operations Squadron.
