COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—An Army artillery officer who planned to argue his twin brother was responsible for sexual assaults involving young girls has changed his story and is pleading guilty to the charges.
The plea Tuesday means 1st Lt. Aaron Lucas faces 20 years to life in prison when he is sentenced in February and vacates a trial planned for January.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports ( ) that Lucas’ attorney, Ted McClintock, says his client “wanted to do the right thing” because he loves his family.
