FORT COLLINS — Windsor Mayor John Vazquez, Windsor Town Manager Kelly Arnold and Greeley Public Works Director Joel Hemesath will join other northern Colorado government officials and talk train horns with U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet at 11 a.m. Monday in Fort Collins.
The senator will speak with local city officials from Windsor, Greeley, Fort Collins, Loveland and Longmont about train horn regulations and their effect on Colorado communities. The meeting comes on the heels of an announcement by the Federal Rail Administration that it would reassess its regulations around train horns, responding to efforts from Bennet, Sen. Mark Udall and communities that had reported that the loud noise from the horns was stifling economic development in downtown areas.
