A garage fire damaged two homes in Denver Friday night.

The call reporting the fire in the 1800 block of South Alcott Street came in around 4:30 p.m., said Gregory Taft, a spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.

The fire was in a two-car, detached garage, which was destroyed. Two homes received heat-related damage. The fire caused multiple explosions due to chemicals, such as gasoline, stored in the garage, Taft said. No one was injured.

The home associated with the garage is without power due to damages, Tafe said.

The fire was fully extinguished around 6 p.m.
