GREELEY, Colo.—Demondre Chapman scored 21 points as Prairie View A&M downed Bethune-Cookman 89-80 in the Colorado State Challenge on Friday night.
Four other players scored in double figures for the Panthers (2-5). Montreal Scott added 18, Hershey Robinson 14, and Tre Hagood and John Briscoe 10 each as the Panthers (2-5) snapped a four-game losing streak.
Mikel Trapp had a career-high 24 points for Bethune-Cookman (2-6). Daquan Brown added 13, Clemmye Owens 12 and Malik Jackson 11. The Wildcats losing streak is now at five games.
Prairie View built up to 15-point lead on three occasions in the first half.
Bethune-Cookman pulled within two-points, at 51-49, on two Travis Elliott free throws with 16:43 left. But the Prairie View pushed it to 73-59 on two Champan free throws with 7:44 remaining.
