The daughter of a teacher found shot to death along a road Friday morning told investigators she recalled picking up a handgun and then “everything goes black” in her memory.
Eagle County authorities say 60-year-old Penelope “Penny” Sue Cunningham’s body was found about 15 miles up Gypsum Creek Road, a remote area outside of Gypsum, about 9 a.m. Friday.
Detectives located Traci Cunningham, 28, Saturday in Lakewood, where she was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder and transported to Eagle County.
She is being held on $1 million bail at the Eagle County Detention Facility, said Danny Davis, district administrator for the 5th Judicial District.
