
Rob this bank, or else. Lakewood police responded to TCF Bank, 7070 W. Alameda Ave., on Dec. 2 after a woman came in and said a man threatened to hurt her and her children if she didn’t rob the bank. According to the woman, the man was outside in a blue truck. Her story started to fall apart,though, and the woman admitted she made it all up to get money. She was arrested.
Black Friday hijinks. Police were called to Home Depot, 6701 W. Alameda Ave., on Nov. 29 for shoplifting. A man had picked out two compression tools and a wire cutter and hid them in his pants. The value of the items was $213. The man said he was going to return the items and sell the store credit for money. He was cited for theft.
Punchy romance. A woman was arrested on domestic violence charges after she punched out a window during an argument with her girlfriend on the 5200 block of West First Avenue. The suspect was found at a nearby 7-Eleven — wearing no shirt and covering her bare chest in a towel.
Happy Thanksgiving. Police responded to the 7300 block of WestHampden Avenue on Nov. 29 for domestic violence. The victim said she had been assaulted and strangled by her boyfriend after they got home from Thanksgiving dinner at his family’s house. According to the boyfriend, they were arguing about her business; she is a masseuse who provides services while wearing lingerie. He was arrested.
Good-smelling thief. A man was cited for stealing four bottles of perfume from Walmart, 440 Wadsworth Blvd., on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28. He fled police but was caught. The items were worth $167.
