Lakewood police on Tuesday arrested a 21-year-old man accused of killing another man in a motel along West Colfax Avenue on Monday.
Cody Kaye Sewick was arrested at about 2 a.m. Tuesday in connection to the slaying of a man found in a room at the Denver West Inn, 7150 W Colfax Ave., police said in a news release.
Sewick was booked on a first-degree murder charge, according to the release.
Police were called to the scene by hotel management and then sealed off the room and got a search warrant.
Investigators found evidence suggesting a homicide had been committed, police said. The name of the victim has not been released.
Sewick is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday.
