Sixteen Colorado arts groups will receive $291,000 in funding for various nonprofit arts programs from the National Endowment for the Arts, the organization said this week.
The grants range from $10,000 to $55,000 to support programs as diverse as music education, community theater, literature, film festivals and rural artist-in-residence programs.
This comes on the heels of Colorado nabbing $253,343 from the National Endowment for the Humanities last week for fellowships and educational programs.
In Colorado, the NEA grants include $25,000 each to support the creation of site-specific art works on the Eastern Plains and for the production of “Black Odyssey” at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, $20,000 to Aspen Santa Fe Ballet for a national performance tour, and $10,000 to Downtown Aurora Visual Arts for a middle-school arts job training program.
