COLORADO SPRINGS — Police said an officer was hit by a car while directing traffic at the scene of a head-on collision about 6:50 p.m Friday at Southgate Road and Nevada Avenue.
The officer, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Police are still trying to locate the vehicle, which is described as newer model, dark black or blue sedan, possibly a Nissan.
