Beyonce’s self-titled visual album is in heavy rotation this week after its surprise release on Friday Dec. 13. The record is doing huge numbers on iTunes where it was exclusively released, but one major retailer in particular is not happy with the album’s format. Target has announced the department store will not be carrying “Beyonce,” because it was made available digitally instead of physically,

“While there are many aspects that contribute to our approach and we have appreciated partnering with Beyoncé in the past,” Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski “We are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats.”

Beyonce has partnered with Target in the past for the exclusive release of her 2011 album “4.” This go around, iTunes has exclusive rights to the album until Dec. 20. “Beyonce” is on track to sell upwards of 830,000 its opening week copies shattering iTunes release records for the year.
