You have eight days to wrap up those last minute Christmas gifts — but don’t worry, not all is lost. , and Stephen Colbert delivered a nice holiday gift on Monday on “The Colbert Report.” The unlikely trio performed a gruff version of “Silver Bells.”
The baritone pipes from the National frontman, Matt Berninger, pulled the Christmas standard into a new register. And yes, Gregg Allman, of Allman Brothers fame still has it, harmonizing well with Berninger. Tongue in cheek host, Stephen Colbert, was no slouch on stage and proved to be a formidable backup singer. All this week, Colbert is bringing guests to perform Christmas carols.
