1. Target: Roughly 40 million credit and debit card numbers breached

If you shopped at Target between Nov. 27 and Dec. 15 – prime holiday shopping season – there is a chance your private information has been compromised. The retail giant has confirmed roughly 40 million debit and credit card numbers – including the security code and expiration date – could have been accessed by a third-party.

In the latest update from music recognition service , you can run the app in the background and it will recognize ambient songs on its own. Earlier iterations forced users to open the application, wait for it to load, and hit a button in order for the app recognizes tunes.

4. You can learn to salsa dance with the Curious app for iPhone

, an application with thousands of how-to videos, has just launched on the iPhone. With the app, users can access more than 3,000 how-to lessons that range from five minutes to 15 minutes, depending on the topic.

One of the best features of the iPhone app? If you have to stop a lesson halfway through, you can save where you were and finish later.

5. Step aside, Dr. Dolittle – this device will help your dog speak English

A team of Nordic scientists have developed a headset that will translate your dog’s thoughts to English – aptly named . How does it work? You attach the headset to your dog (if he or she lets you) and it analyzes and translates animal thought patterns.

The device currently only translates to English, but the team is working on translations to Mandarin, French and Spanish.
