Aspen winter fest
Winterskol, Aspen’s annual “toast to winter” takes place Jan. 9-12. The four-day celebration includes live music, a madhatters ball, a soup cook-off, a canine fashion show and WinterFest.
Ice fishing derby
Meeker’s Family Ice Fishing Derby is Jan. 11 at Rio Blanco Lake. The free event, which runs from noon to 4 p.m., includes hot cocoa, T-shirts, bus transportation from Meeker Recreation Center and lunch at the lake.
“Alamosa in Wonderland”
Alamosa Ice Fest is Jan. 18-19. This year’s theme is “Alamosa in Wonderland,” and the weekend features a scavenger hunt, a faux-snowman building contest, live music, a fire and ice party and more.
WinterBike at Copper
WinterBike takes place at Copper Mountain Jan. 18-19. Part of the Leadville Winter Mountain Bike Series, this night bike ride takes place Saturday on the slopes and ends with fireworks, followed by bicycle vendors and demos in Center Village on Sunday.
