PUEBLO, Colo.—Authorities say two people were struck by a police vehicle while a Pueblo officer was responding to a call.

Pueblo police Sgt. Eric Gonzales says the two pedestrians did not suffer serious injuries when they were hit Monday night, but were taken to a hospital as a precaution.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports ( ) that police say the preliminary investigation suggests the two people were walking across a street in the middle of a block when they were hit.

Police don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
