Maria Taylor — Larimer Lounge, Jan. 5, $12-$14

Signed to Saddle Creek Records, Maria Taylor exemplifies the label’s specific sound of country-influenced folk music. Like modern Bright Eyes — whom Taylor has performed with — the artistap music travels from indie to indie-rock with a classic natural twang. Taylor released her sixth solo album in 2013, which ups the production value from her previous work, even incorporating a chorus of backing vocalists on tracks like “Tunnel Vision.” Along with Blake Brown and PJ Bond, Taylor plays at the Larimer Lounge on Jan. 5.
