GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Mesa County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim in a fatal New Year’s Day shooting as a 47-year-old Grand Junction man.
The coroner’s office says Randy Cook died of a gunshot to the chest after midnight Wednesday in the Orchard Mesa area.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reports ( ) the death has been ruled a homicide.
No arrests have been made. The sheriff’s office has interviewed several people who were at the scene.
A judge has ordered court documents in the case sealed.
