Q: Don’t laugh — OK, maybe laugh — but I still use a Palm Pilot for my calendar and address book. I really want to transfer all that data to my iPad but am loath to re-enter it all. Do you know of a way or a service to accomplish this?

A: You’ll need to sync the data from your Palm Pilot to a computer and use third-party software, such as , to transfer the information from the computer to the iPad. I don’t have access to a Palm Pilot to test it out, but you can try the CompanionLink software for 14 days before purchasing. For future reference, Apple’s online community-support forum ( ) is a great resource for these types of questions, especially if you don’t want to make a trip to the local Apple store.
