“Puffing” leads to car theft. On Jan. 6, a white 2010 Pontiac G6 was stolen from the 2200 block of Ingalls Street when the owner of the vehicle left it running unoccupied as he warmed the interior of the vehicle. This practice known as “puffing” is a violation of the Edgewater municipal code.

Criminal record. On Jan. 4, Edgewater officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 2400 block of Ames Street. The driver provided multiple names to the officers during their investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a 43-year-old Lakewood resident for following another vehicle too closely, careless driving, driving without a license, false reporting, forgery, criminal possession of a forged instrument and DUI. The man also had an outstanding $500 traffic warrant out of Lakewood and an outstanding arrest warrant out of Denver for domestic violence and kidnapping.

Warrant served. On Jan. 1, a 25-year-old Edgewater man was arrested for an outstanding $500 traffic warrant from the Colorado State Patrol after being contacted for a traffic violation at 20th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard.

Have an obscene New Year. On Dec. 30, a 24-year-old Edgewater man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was heard yelling obscenities in the King Soopers parking lot at 1725 Sheridan Blvd. He was issued a summons for violation of the Edgewater municipal code and released to a responsible party.

Stolen car found. On Dec. 28, a 1989 Toyota Camery reported stolen from Denver on Dec. 28 was recovered from the 2400 block of Jay Street, Edgewater.
