Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is still recovering from a shooting three years ago but says she might consider a return to political office.
The Arizona Democrat kept the door open when asked about such a move, saying “maybe” during an interview aired Thursday on NBC’s “Today” show.
Wednesday was the third anniversary of the Tucson shooting in which six people were killed and 13 wounded, including Giffords.
to commemorate the January 2011 attack and how far she has come.
Giffords said she felt happy and sad on the anniversary but believes it’s time to move on.
She said she’s making slow progress in her rehabilitation and wants to work on her Spanish and resume playing the French horn.
