You have to feel bad for the guys. Swedish Fish, roasted peanuts or licorice is not an easy decision when you’re “Stoned and Starving.” At least they can release the angst with quick blasts of guitar shredding. Parquet Courts brought it on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” on Thursday, blasting feedback at the audience in a performance of “Stoned and Starving.”

The indie punk rock band is coming off an excellent 2013, which saw the release of “Light Up Gold,” an album that got rave reviews and landed on a number of year-end lists. It’s an album that struggles with much of the monotonies of life — especially while stoned.

But the question here is, when Jimmy Fallon moves to “The Tonight Show” in mid-February, will he or his successor be willing to bring punk rock bands on the show to sing about how high and hungry they are?
