A: The tech blog Digital Trends offers a primer at on initial steps to consider if you want to cut the cord. That post was written before the release of Google’s $35 Chromecast, which I would highly recommend purchasing even if you don’t cancel your Comcast cable-TV subscription. The device will allow you to easily stream Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube and other content to the TV. If you’re in the market for a new TV, look for a “smart TV,” which can connect to Internet via your home Wi-Fi network without requiring additional hardware. Smart TVs also include integrate apps, such as Amazon Instant Video, that make it easy to watch Internet content.
