Fishing contest in Granby
The 25th annual Three Lakes Ice Fishing Contest in Granby takes place Jan. 24-26. Contestants can fish one, two or all three days, and prizes are given for lake, brown and rainbow trout. The weekend includes cash and door prizes, a fishermen’s feast and more.
Father-daughter dance
The 4th annual Father Daughter Dance at the Greeley Recreational Center is Jan. 31 and Feb. 1. Ticket prices are $20-$25 per couple, and include the dance, appetizers, and a professional photo. Each additional daughter is $10. or 970-350-9400
Durango winter train
The Cascade Canyon Winter Train in Durango will run until April 1 and goes 26 miles each way; riders cruise through the San Juan National Forest and near the Animas River in the comfort of heated couches, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way. Ticket prices vary.
