LAKEWOOD, Colo.—Fire department officials are warning Lakewood residents to take precautions after a series of arson fires late last year.

On Oct. 22, a series of four fires damaged or destroyed 15 vehicles, a motorcycle and two homes. There was another suspicious fire in the area on Nov. 2.

The West Metro Fire Department tells KMGH-TV ( ) they are recommending that people park vehicles away from structures, get smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, keep doors and vehicles locked and notify authorities of suspicious persons.
