MINNEAPOLIS — The Metrodome started deflating for the last time at 6:15 a.m. Saturday.

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority gave the go-ahead despite concerns about weather conditions. Overnight, between 4 and 5 inches of light, fluffy snow fell in the west metro, according to observations from the National Weather Service. Wind was a steady 5 to 10 mph Saturday morning.

The Metrodome’s 10 acres of Teflon-coated fabric were expected to take between 20 and 40 minutes to full deflate. At 7:50 a.m., it was officially declared deflated after 35 minutes.
