Old prices, too

The Old Spaghetti Factory (1215 18th St., 303-295-1864) celebrates dishing up a family favorite for 45 years with oodles of noodle savings. Today, Jan. 20 and Jan. 21, you’ll find several of its most popular dishes for $5 or less – with a kid’s meal for just $3. To wash it all down, buy a coffee, hot tea, iced tea or milk for just a buck more. The frugal noodle plates are available from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. each day. There is a limit of one dish per guest for dine-in only.

Stamp of approval

A wise man once said, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” With postage stamps jumping from 46 cents to 49 cents on Jan. 26, now’s your chance to save a few pennies by purchasing “Forever” stamps at the lower rate. Remember, stamps are available at many locations besides the U.S. Post Office such as banks and grocery stores. Those really into pinching pennies can find stamps below retail at some retailers like Costco. For those who use the mail regularly, it’s wise to stock up.

Tropical freebie

With so many people trying to adhere to their “get fit in 2014” resolutions, Tropical Smoothie Café (5332 DTC Blvd. in Greenwood Village) is offering some fruit-filled, healthy savings. On Jan. 24, that location is giving away free 24-ounce smoothies all day – from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. It’s an even sweeter deal if you stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for free samples of toasted flatbreads, sandwiches, and wraps, gift-card giveaways and a chance to win free smoothies for a year.

Each Monday, Laura & Bryan at compile “Cheap Checklist” to find deals, discounts and freebies. Know of a deal? E-mail info@milehighonthecheap.com 10 to 14 days in advance.
