How do you get a bird’s-eye-view of apenguin colony? Give a bird the camera.

A documentary filmmaker made a camera that looks like a penguin egg and stuck it in the colony. The result is some uniquely close-up footage of the birds.

In the clip, a caracara bird finds the egg-cam, thinking it’s an easy meal. When he takes off with the camera in talon, he captures the first bird-shot footage of a penguin colony.

But then the bird drops the hidden camera mid-flight, and two turkey vultures roll it back to the the penguin’s area.

The video is taken from “,” a documentary that was shot using 50disguised cameras in penguin coloniesin Antarctica, Peru and the Falkland Islands, among other locations.
