Winter fun
Grand Lake’s annual Winter Carnival is Feb. 1. The all-day carnival includes teapot curling at the Town Ice Rink, human bowling, snow golf, a “Dancing in the Street” parade, bed-sled races and more.
Comedy festival
Telluride’s 15th annual Comedy Festival takes place Feb. 13-16. Held at the historic Sheridan Opera House, the festival brings together some of the country’s best comedians for a weekend of skiing during daylight and comedy at night.
Ice fishing
The 17th annual Wolford Mountain Reservoir Ice Fishing Contest is Feb. 15 in Kremmling, with cash and other prizes awarded to the 10 largest fish caught, as well as an hourly “big fish” competition. Registration is $35.
Bird bash
The annual High Plains Snow Goose Festival is Feb. 20-23 in Lamar. The weekend includes bird walks and bird watching, speakers, seminars, arts and crafts, and more.
