A public memorial for a Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy killed in the line of duty Sunday will be held next week.
Sgt. David Baldwin, since 1987, died Sunday when he was hit by a wrong-way driver on Colorado 93.
A memorial for Baldwin will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at the 1stBANK Center at 11450 Broomfield Lane, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Following the service, a formal vehicle procession will depart from the event center and proceed to the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
A private reception will be held at the fairgrounds for the Baldwin family, sheriff’s employees and immediate family.
