DENVER—A Denver sheriff’s deputy is appealing a 30-day suspension for slamming a handcuffed and shackled inmate into a Denver courtroom wall.

Deputy Brady Lovingier was disciplined after he slammed inmate Anthony Waller into a glass wall during a court appearance in 2012. Waller was in court facing charges for an unrelated assault case.

According to the Denver Post ( ), Lovingier says he used that much force because Waller was being aggressive and refused to follow orders.
