DENVER—Officials in Colorado are searching for a private plane carrying three people that has gone missing.
The Denver Post reports ( ) that the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Department is looking for the aircraft that dropped off radar on Sunday.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Susan Lilly says the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza took off around 11:20 a.m. and was heading from Telluride to Cortez, located in southwest Colorado.
She tells the newspaper that the plane was overdue and that its last communication was from the runway during takeoff.
Searchers were concentrating on an area near Telluride Regional Airport.
