Address misheard. Golden police went Feb. 12 to Golden Bowl, 525 24th St., in reference to criminal trespass of a vehicle. Upon arrival, the officer couldn’t locate the vehicle and called the reporting party, who said he was at Golden Goal, 2650 Alkire St., unincorporated Jefferson County. The call was transferred to the Jeffco Sheriff’s Office.

Attempted dog theft. Golden police went to the 1900 block of Parfet Estates Drive on Feb. 1, when a woman said her dog was in her front yard when her son observed a male in a low-rider Chevy truck pet her dog and try to coax him into the truck. The driver noticed he was being watched and left.

Shaken up. On Feb. 7, a resident of the 31000 block of John Wallace Road, Evergreen, reported suspicious text messages, which included a text about setting up a Google account and one that read, “Mamma, go shake your butt tomorrow.”

TP-ed off. A resident of the 26100 block of Sweetbriar Trail, Kittredge, reported to deputies on Feb. 8 that she chased down but did not catch three children she caught throwing toilet paper onto vehicles and ringing doorbells in the neighborhood. She said she had a good idea of who they were, but would not name them because of “a feeling of entitlement in this neighborhood” among their parents.

Xcel scam. A resident of the 7400 block of Highway 73 in the Evergreen-Conifer area reported on Feb. 6 that he received a phone call from Xcel alerting him of a shutoff for not paying his bill. Officers confirmed with Xcel that it was a fraudulent call.
